GENDERED LABOR ACROSS THE GLOBE
ABOUT OUR PROJECT
Our project explores the intersection of gender and employment, utilizing data from the World Bank’s Gender Data Portal to analyze global disparities and biases that affects gender in the workforce. By examining statistics such as workforce participation, unemployment rates, labor legislation, and paid parental leave, we hope to provide a nuanced understanding of the economic experiences of women and other marginalized genders.
Our research combines this data with existing literature to highlight both the challenges and potential solutions for achieving gender equity in employment. We seek to fill gaps in understanding, especially regarding race, gender, and class intersections, and to promote meaningful discourse that contributes to more effective legislative and cultural changes in the global labor force.
